A Girl & Her Blog

Starting a Blog

It was a year ago today that I joined this crazy world of blogging. After about 1,000 different blog names and several months of blog stalking, I took a leap and Linens and Leggings began. Needless to say, I didn't quite land on my feet at first, but I think I am finally getting the hang of it. Never did I think that I would be a blogger or much less be blogging a whole 365 days later. It has been quite the journey and I've learned much more than I thought my brain was capable.

Seriously, who thought this blogging stuff would be hard? Well, I was 110% wrong because not only was it a huge learning experience, but it also encouraged me to push myself harder than I had ever done before. I am no Nicholas Sparks when it comes to words, but I have learned to be a better writer (huge thanks to my proofreading husband). My modeling skills are clearly far from Gisele but I learned to be confident in my own skin and have fun with pictures. And last, but not least, I have loved learning how to use my DSLR camera and learning how to take better pictures. There may have been a few cuss words along the way, but who is judging?

There is a whole community of us bloggers and I have mad respect for each and every one of these ladies (and gentlemen). Trust me, it is not easy to put yourself out there and open up streams of judgement or criticism, but we do it because of our passion for blogging. Every week we sit down in front of our computers and publish our blog posts for the world to see. It's overwhelming and extremely exciting to see readers from Australia, Spain, Canada, and the rest of the world. It is amazing to see the people you connect with along the way!

I thank each of you who follow along to read my travel adventures or about My Little Black Heels or even My Biggest Fear. I know none of these posts are life changing, but they share who I am and my little slice of life. As I always say, life is exciting why not share it?
