Why I Loved 2015

To say it has been a whirlwind of a year would be an understatement. It's hard to believe that 2016 is right around the corner but the older I get, the quicker the new year comes. This is why you have to live by the motto "YOLO" because life goes by quickly! This year has been full of amazing vacations, discovering a little more about myself, and learning to appreciate family more than ever. It's safe to say that I loved 2015!

For starters, I started my blog Linens and Leggings at the beginning of this year. To say this was an adventure would be pretty accurate. I have learned more about myself than I knew was possible. It has been a journey that has made me try new things and expand my skills beyond cocktail making and shopping. It's safe to say my Spring was full of time in front of the laptop cursing at HTML codes and learning about photography. When I wasn't working on my blog I made sure to spend time unwinding with the best of friends.

To kick start summer I got to let loose and Shake it Off with Taylor Swift during the 1989 tour. Then days later, I boarded a cruise with my family for a week. We ventured from Jamaica to the Cayman Islands to Cozumel, and there was plenty of tropical goodness in between!

The Summer was full of weekend getaways. It included trips to North Carolina for the 4th of July, Smith Lake for my mom's birthday, and Florida for a friend's bachelorette party. We filled the rest of the summer with baseball games with family, long days at the pool, and cook outs with friends. I also mastered the perfect margarita recipe becoming the official margarita connoisseur. My motto is to soak up every ounce of summer and we did just that!

When Fall rolled around, it began our Fall of Love and Travel. Our 1st Wedding Anniversary was in September, and we celebrated with a trip to Savannah for a friend's wedding. The next few weekends included lots of beautiful weddings and fun showers to celebrate all of our friends. Next, I was off to Colorado for work and I am counting down the days until I return. To finish off the travel adventures, T and I made a trip to Washington D.C. for a little bit of cocktail drinking and history. This trip was the icing on the cake and a perfect way to unwind before the Holidays started!

While the year has been full of travel and adventure, it was nice to slow down and spend time with family during Christmas. Seeing my family makes me grateful for everything that I have. Whether I was playing Barbie Dream House with my nieces or Cards Against Humanity with my family, it made me realize how great 2015 has been. Scrolling through my iPhone pictures and old blog posts makes me realize that this is a year I will never forget.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Holidays and is ready for an amazing 2016!
