My Goals for 2016



So here it is, a brand New Year and a whole 365 days to fill it with whatever you can dream. This is the excitement of the New Year because anything and everything is at your fingertips. Once the Christmas craziness slows down, I begin to think to myself what my goals and plans are for the next year. Whether it be a personal goal or budget goal, I make sure to write them down in my calendar and start the New Year right. Some people call these "resolutions", but the idea of a "goal" is much more exciting to me and more attainable.

So what do my 2016 goals look like?

1. I am slightly O.C.D. and I keep a lot of things in my head or on a million different Post It Notes. All of sudden these ideas or Post It Notes get lost and I am scrambling because I think my brain goes 90 miles per hour. This is the year of change and I am investing in a day planner to get more organized. I may be going old school with my calendar but that's okay!

2. Linens and Leggings is an ongoing project outside of just my posts. While I have come a long way since I started in February of 2015, there is still quite a list of goals and updates to scratch off the list. My first step is a make over for the layout and logo so stayed tuned because next year is my year. Or at least that is what my horoscope says.

3. Speaking of horoscopes, I can honestly say that I am slightly in tuned with T's and mine. The good news is that next year both our signs are reading LOVE for 2016. So my goal for us is to have an amazing year together. I want for us to try at least 3 new things together in 2016. And by new I mean sky diving or learning to fly fish, just in case you were getting curious...

4. Our big financial goal is buying new bedroom furniture this year. We have a hodgepodge of pieces now and I can't wait to start from scratch. I've always dreamed of a real adult bedroom and girly, but I don't think T would go for that. Oh, and we are buying a new fridge but that's so not exciting.

5. So every year I have some crazy diet or nutrition program I am going to start. Then mid-February kicks in and I convince myself the extra softness on my body is keeping me warm. This year, I am not going to do a crazy diet or nutrition program, but I am going to keep it simple: eat less carbs and more fruits and vegetables. Seriously, I have a fear of fruits and vegetables, but not this year. My goal is to eat a handful of fruits or vegetables twice a day.

  1. Good goals! A planner is a must for me. I made a list of 2016 intentions and at the top is embracing Missouri (my state). Wanting to try 6 new breweries + 6 new coffee shops + 6 new eats. :)
