Friends... And How They Taught Me About Life

There is something about Friends that just tugs at the heart strings. Whether you have had a bad day or a fabulous day there is something about this series. I guess now that I am actually at the age where I can relate to the characters it makes such a difference. I mean who knew I could learn so much about life from Friends?  While it was not a reality show it was real, and it was about a group of friends trying to make it in life while having a few laughs along the way.

It may seem a little crazy and like I have too much time on my hands, but I guess you could say Friends fills my happy glass. So here is what Friends taught me about life:

"She's your lobster. C'mon you guys. It's a known fact that lobsters fall in love and mate for life. You can actually see old lobster couples, walking around their tank, you know, holding claws. ... See? He's her lobster!" – Phoebe

Everyone has a lobster and sometimes you take a hard pinch to find the right one.

"It’s a trifle. It’s got all of these layers. First there’s a layer of ladyfingers, then a layer of jam, then custard, which I made from scratch, then raspberries, more ladyfingers, then beef sauteed with peas and onions, then a little more custard, and then bananas, and then I just put some whipped cream on top!" – Rachel

We aren't always going to get the recipe right trust me I have been there. The thing to remember is we always have to try and those who love us will eat it anyways.

"That's right, I stepped up! She's my friend and she needed help. If I had to, I'd pee on any one of you!" - Joey

The first lesson is Jellyfish stings hurt really bad! The second lesson is that you have to step up to the plate for your friends because you love them, even if that means peeing on them.

"How you doin'?"  - Joey

Life is full of charming good looking boys, but even those hunks can have a soft side and a bedtime pal named Hugsy. Don't judge a boy by his cover.

"That's how it starts, I don't need to eat the cake I'll just smell the icing." – Monica

Yeah, yeah temptations always get the best of us. Who can resist chocolate cake or calling an ex-boyfriend? No one is perfect.

"I'm gonna get all uncomfortable and probably make some stupid joke."- Chandler

As a natural born talker this one always hits home. Unfortunately, I have not learned the power of silence yet so many stupid jokes have been made.

What is your favorite Friends life lesson? I would love to hear!
