Single Girl Time

Single Girl Time

I think the older I get the more I love to spend time by myself. Okay not for days on end or anything because I am far from being a hermit crab, but I feel like the time I have alone is quite precious. I have learned to enjoy my "single girl time" when T has to work late or I want to lock myself up in my bedroom. I love the freedom to make my own personal agenda and be by myself.

So Why Do I love my "Single Girl Time" so much?

1. It's my time and I can watch whatever I want. I love mindless TV and catching up on my shows. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is the best the remedy to a long day.  There is something great about not having to negotiate for the TV to only watch another rerun of Sports Center.

2. Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Merlot are a totally acceptable dinner. No, but seriously this has been on the menu many a night when by myself and it's the most delicious meal out there. And in all honesty I may have been in my PJ's eating this dinner at 7:30PM. The point being I can do whatever I want!

3. I truly get to know myself when I am all alone. Okay this may sound cheesy but when I am alone running errands or doing yoga there is only me and my thoughts. There is something about being alone and trying new things or exploring without the opinions of others.

4. Girlfriend saves money! Okay not when I am out shopping or anything, but seriously a missed happy hour never hurt no one. Even a Saturday night spent cuddling on the couch with my dog and Netflix is the cheapest (and best) date around town.

5. Being alone teaches me to be independent. I feel like I am pretty independent already but being alone teaches you to be okay alone. A few years ago I would never eat alone but now I eat lunch weekly by myself- and in public.

Now days there is a constant feeling to always be connected and never alone, but I dare you to try it out and be alone for a while! Learn to enjoy your "me time" because it quite precious. Have a date night all by yourself or go to lunch alone, I promise it's not all that bad and no one is staring at you weirdly. That "me time" can teach you a thing or two and you'll absolutely love it.
